Pet Blogs Provide Information and Entertainment
If you enjoy reading and watching videos about pet related topics and finding information on how to keep your pets happy and healthy, there are many online blogs for pet owners. If you own a dog or cat, you have a great number of choices. But there are also blogs that focus on horses, chickens, and even more unusual pets, such as rats. Whenever you check out a new blog dedicated to pets, look for a disclosure statement and be aware that many blog writers accept revenue from companies that sell pet products, and consider this connection if the blog contains endorsements or reviews of products, as they may be biased. Even if a disclosure statement reveals paid product endorsement, the actual reviews may not inform the reader that the blog writer has received money from the pet product maker. And some blogs seem to contain little useful or well-researched information and only seem to exist to sell pet products. In this case, or if a blog site does not even include a disclosure statement, be skeptical of product endorsements on the site and do more research to help you make an informed decision. And don't believe everything you read, especially if statements are not linked to quality research. You can get started with informative blogs like Simply for Dogs or the hybrid mobile app/website Curiosity, browse Feedspot's top 100 cat blogs list, explore the links on our own Skagit Humane Valuable Resources page or just do your own search for blogs that feature animal related articles and videos.
Skagit Humane and Wings of Rescue
Skagit Humane partners with Wings of Rescue to provide relief and hope for animals from overcrowded animal shelters in other parts of the world. Our most recent partnership brought shelter animals from Tennessee to the Skagit Valley. Prior to this, we teamed with Wings or Rescue and the ASPCA to bring animals from California and even Israel to our shelter.
