Many ways to help
There are many ways to get involved and help the pets at the Humane Society of Skagit Valley. We rely on volunteers to help the animals in our care receive adequate attention, affection, exercise, care, and love.We need foster homes for our most young and fragile pets, and our bigger pets require regular help in learning their manners so that they too can find homes. There are so many ways to help.
We also rely on our members and donors to provide the products and cash that it takes to keep the animals fed, sheltered, and medically attended.
Beside donations, much of our funding comes from our annual fundraisers. We can use reliable volunteers to help with these events. We are continually running or planning events, so give us a call or send an email if you want more information of our upcoming events.
(It is a common misunderstanding in the community that we are a county funded shelter. We do have stray animal boarding contracts with Skagit county and with a number of cities in both Skagit and Snohomish counties, but we are a private non-profit organization that relies on donations, fundraising, and profits from the sales at our thrift shop to keep our doors open.)
