The Staff want you to know that we will be closing at 3 p.m. Wednesday the 26th and Closed ALL DAY Thanksgiving Day the 27th and will resume regular hours on Friday. | Well another Pawtastic Event, thanks to Sedro-Woolley's Skagit Farmers Supply Store & all those amazing friends that came out to get their picture taken with Santa our very own Steve Hecimovich, President of the Humane Society of Skagit Valley and our wonderful board of directors, Becky Rosencranz, Photographer Sharon Bumgarner, Santa's helper Check in with Santa's elves Adrienne Borque, Kim R. MacKenzie, Paula S., Theresa Dentham, and Janine Shelter Director. Santa's crew was able to collect over $700.00 in donations! These funds will go directly into the Shelter's Second Chance Shelter Animal Medical Fund, to help those less unfortunate animals get a second chance in life. THANK YOU!!!!!! |
Update on our Cat Wing!
Just posting an Update on our New Addition
Sandy Nelson Memorial Cat Wing,
Project Manager Mitchell Sorestad reports,
that everything is on schedule and as you can see
foundation is set, framing is coming up, walls and roof.
Humane Society is pretty excited.

Upcoming Cat Spay/Neuter Clinics
Pawsitive Alliance is
sponsoring two(2) low cost cat spay/neuter clinics on November 16th
& December 12th @ at NOAH in Stanwood.
Who should apply?
Low income residents of Snohomish and Skagit counties.
Cost: $5 co-pay. Appointments are
required.
It is generally safe for
kittens as young as eight weeks old, or three pounds, to be spayed or neutered.

Thanksgiving don’t forget to be thankful for your animal companions and keep
them safe.
If you have guests over for the holidays be sure to provide your animals with a safe, comfortable place to rest, away from the hustle and bustle of festive activities. Some pets enjoy being right in the middle of the fun, while others choose to stay clear. Respect and be aware of your pets' needs and safety.

you want to give your pets a Thanksgiving feast of their own, be careful not to
overdo it, a change in diet could upset their digestive track. Avoid
using foods that contain a lot of salt or preservatives and avoid sweets.
We
all know chocolate isn't good for pets, but what some people don’t know is that Xylitol, a common sweetener and baking ingredient, is very toxic for animals.
So during your holiday planning don't forget to plan for your pets' needs and
have a Happy Howliday Season!
